(No children allowed when working your shift)  Contact Becky now becky@lookingglassconsignment.com!  (Note:  You DO NOT have to be a consignor to work and have the benefit of shopping early.  I have several people who do not contribute, but want to shop early, so they work a shift for me!)

Frequently Asked Questions:
It's so much work to tag everything - is there a better way?
TAG EARLY!!  It's much easier if you tag as your child outgrows items and store them for the next sale rather than having to tag everything at once.  I accept tags from other sales, so if you are planning on taking anything that does not sell at Looking Glass to another sale, you can tag for that sale and I will accept it - tag once, sell twice!

How do I know what to price my items?
A general rule is to price the item 1/3 of the retail price.  In some instances going as high as 1/2 of retail will be successful, but the item must be in like-new condition and be what would be considered a current hot item with kids.  Price items what you would be willing to pay for it - as a used item.  If you over-price, you will most likely take it back home with you.  Toys must have batteries and be in working order or they will not sell.  If someone has to question if it will operate, they will not purchase it.  As a sale operator and contributor for over 6 years, I generally sell at least half of what I have taken to a sale and find that to be the case with most contributors who price their items well.  If you are leaving a sale with most of what you took, you may want to re-evaluate your pricing or the items you have placed.  If clothing is out of date or looks very worn, it most likely will not sell.

Can I really make money selling at consignment sales?
YES!!  Many people have not had to spend money to purchase their children's clothing or toys because of the turn-over between what they have sold and what they purchase.  You can do it too!

How can I maximize my time and profit from a sale?
Volunteer!  The Looking Glass will allow you to shop early before the pre-sale and offer a 75/25 split by simply volunteering 4 hours to help out at the sale (No children allowed when working your shift).  You can shop BEFORE the crowds and find some of the best deals!  (Remember - you don't have to contribute in order to work and shop early!)
